APPARENTLY, today is national candy corn day. That’s what I keep hearing and reading. But why? I tried “googling” it and couldn’t find anything! But the one thing I did find is quite funny…

So… I THINK… it was made up, kind of like sweetest day, by the manufactuers of candy corn, which is now the jelly bean company since the 1900’s. Another interesting fact:

 

Candy corn has been around for more than 100 years. George Renninger, an employee of the Wunderlee Candy Company, invented the popular confection in the 1880s and Wunderlee became the first to produce the candy. The Goelitz Candy Company (now Jelly Belly Candy Company) started producing the confection in 1900 and still produces candy corn today.

Last night, as I was walking up the steps into my apartment (outside steps), I heard this really loud noise and wondered what it was. It sounded like a helicopter but really close to me, I heard this Wooosh Wooosh Woosh Woosh and then my hair goes flying!!! Luckily I was too tired from the long day to turn around and look to see where this sound was coming from…This huge DUCK was flying Right at me! That would have scared me to death to see him and I probably would have fell up or down the steps trying to get away. My husband was right in front of me and turned around to see what it was. he thought it was going to hit me square in the head! But luckily he just grazed me. He was trying to get on top of the roof, and I was in his way apparently! He could’nt get his fat ass up high enough to get around me. He almost took my head off!! I felt Elaine in the Seinfeld episode where her ex calls her big head and then she gets hit by a bird!  “He flew right into your head. Like he couldn’t avoid it.”  The funniest part was that neighbors were outside, they were standing in the parking lot and witnessed the whole event!  

 

PS It’s still FRREEEZZZING!!! And why did the weather channel say that the low was going to be 56 if on the same screen it said, current temp 51… um I’m not a meterologist or anything but even I can tell there is something wrong with that forcast!

I walk out the door this morning and BAM! COLDNESS! I was not expecting that. I get into my car and read the external temperature (yes, my car has a nifty feature, I LOVE my new car!) and it says 56 degrees!! I’m in South Florida People! The temperature hasn’t been lower than 70 in ages! It’s still mid to high 80’s during the day… and 56??? Major drop! I’m drinkin the hot cocoa this morning! lol. Too bad I can’t do coffee, I would love me a starbucks right now…

and PS, sorry to the cold states who are used to this already… it’s very new to me right now. First time I’ve felt cold this year that isn’t from the a/c! haha.

 and PS again… just a little funny tidbit of information… I was CRAVING tacobell last night… of course I didn’t get it, trying to save money here… and I had a dream about eating it! Not once, but twice. I woke up remembering the dream, and then i fell asleep again and had another related dream, almost like it continued. But I HATE when I dream about eating food. I always feel weirdly full when I wake up after I “eat” in my dreams, like I’ve been gulping down air or something lol. So weird, I know.

Hm I wish I had time to blog every morning, I would probably have more to say and get more posts out… TOO BAD!

ok I think I’ve warmed up enough, and over the shock,  to get to work now…

Lots going on this weekend, I am feeling quite accomplished…

• 1st, I FINALLY Got my haircut! Much overdue. (and dyed-byebye grays!! I’m much too young for you anyway.)
• We carved pumpkins! I can’t remember the last time I did that, it was so fun. I think the hubby is getting into parenting mode and wanting to do fun stuff that we can start  traditions with the kids!

• We finally got both the mattresses moved into the storage unit. (We got a new one and moved the one in the spare room out to make room for baby stuff!)
• We got the crib! (picture coming soon) but need the mattress for it still… it was too expensive at Ikea, I’m sure we can find a cheaper one somewhere else.
• The hubby got the babys dresser partially stained, just needs another coat. Here is the before pic, he sanded it since it was painted (2 layers). will have after pic up… well, after!
• 
• I found something to make for our Halloween Potluck at work on Friday… cheesy crescent ghosts- very easy recipe.
• I uploaded all the pics from my camera I’ve been meaning to do all week (yea for stopping procrastination!)
• I finally started the baby blog! If you’re interested let me know and I’ll email you the link.

hm I think that’s about it! and I still have a bit of time left today, hopefully I’ll knock the last thing off my list… We’ll see!!

I HATE Ikea! Whoever invented that store is a moron…. ok I take that back, I guess it is kind of smart to make people walk around the WHOLE ENTIRE STORE before they can get out, so they have to pass by everything. The idea is good from a marketing perspective. But it does not make it easy for the people who like to get in, grab what they want, and get out. And self check outs only?? People do NOT know what they are doing with those, thats why there are cashiers to do it for them.

Last night was only the 2nd time I was ever in an Ikea store… The first time I said, I am NEVER coming back here! but someone gave me a giftcard so I Had to at some point. I have been hanging onto that stupid gift card (For 75$ so I couldn’t just not spend it or give it away or anything, thats a lot of money!) for almost 2 years! Seriously, this Christmas would have been 2 years. But I saw some decent priced baby cribs, so I figured it would be perfect to use the money towards that. So the good news is we got a baby crib!! And the hubby put it together nicely last night. We even got a stain to match to stain the dresser his mom gave us. YEA! So something good did come out of it. But it was seriously the most stressful shopping experience of my entire life last night…. it took me the whole car ride and a stop at Baskin Robins to get icecream for me to calm down.

- I AM extremely tired

- I AM nervous that my throat is starting to hurt again, I am hoping I’m not getting sick again!

- I AM debating on, and worrying about, taking this AFP bloodtest. Do I know everything, are we making the right decision not to do it?

- I AM extremely relieved that I got to hear my baby’s heartbeat today and that it sounded healthy (secretly i was nervous because it took her a while to find it!)

- I AM wondering why I get so many views on my blog some days but only the same 2 people ever comment, it kind of hurts my feelings and I’m curious as to who else is reading! so feel free to let me know who you are!

-I AM glad my job is flexible and they let me work from home today

- I AM happy that it is the weekend!!
